Our Board of Directors
Libby Miller, Board President
For the past decade, Libby Miller has worked on behalf of youth with many non-profit organizations in the Pacific Northwest. A lifelong Seattle resident and alumnae of the University of Washington, she served on the University’s Alumnae Board, founded the Sasha Kolde Junior Guild at Seattle Children’s Hospital, co-founded Contagious Compassion and serves on the advisory board for the Mona Foundation. Inspired by a growing urgency to help at-risk youth, she founded Hooves with Heart in 2011. “I am passionate about empowering youth, and giving every young person an equal chance to build a successful life,” she says. “By helping teens build leadership, responsibility and compassion, they become better equipped to maintain healthy relationships and contribute to the future of our community. Hooves with Heart has positively changed many young lives and through our continuing work, we can ensure a healthier future for many more.”
Board Member, Steve Miller
Steve is chairman of the board of James Farrell & Company, a 92 year-old export company in Seattle, and COLO Logistics. He is also a Trustee of Eastside Prep School in Kirkland, Washington. He shares his wife Libby’s passion for enabling teens to build successful life skills through connections with animals and nature. “Horses can be great teachers and I have personally seen how they and other animals can touch teens in ways that humans can’t. I continue to be amazed at the life-changing experiences that come from the youth who participate in Hooves with Heart.”
Board Member, Gayle Podrabsky
Gayle is the producer and director of Epona Productions, a motion picture and video production company. She has produced, directed and edited videos for more than 20 years. “I have been enamored with horses for as long as I can remember and I’ve learned many great lessons from the horses in my life. I also remember the difficulty of being a teen. The curriculum offered by Hooves with Heart brilliantly develops life skills for anyone at any age. My understanding of what it takes to succeed in life makes me a passionate supporter of this unique organization.”
